How A Quant Found Out The True Workings Of Stock Exchanges
In my opinion the best TV program in the Netherlands is Tegenlicht, an excellent documentary series often about the abuses in the world of finance. Yesterday evening, yes I stayed home for this, the episode was about High Frequency Trading (HFT). Star of the show was Haim Bodek; Quant, whistleblower and former HFT trader that found out you can never outsmart the exchanges. Co-starring Eric Hunsader (CEO NANEX), Scott Patterson (WSJ), Thomas Peterffy (father of HFT), and Dave Lauer (former HFT trader that also went public).
Fortunately some Tegenlicht (Backlight) episodes are translated to English and published on Youtube right after the broadcast on Dutch television. A must see:
